ODP - Europe
One of the most important aspects of our training concept is that we do not only train at the recreational, but also at professional levels.
The Dooley Soccer University was asked by the US soccer organization (USYS Europe) to train the American children and teenagers living in Europe. With our "training concept" we trained at the bases in Wiesbaden, Kaiserslautern and Stuttgart at the weekends.
The best players of the various age-groups are nominated for the ODP Europe. In the USA almost 20 million people are active soccer players. In Germany, the biggest soccer organization in the world, 2 million players actively compete in organized club teams. Certainly one has to know, that the United States of America has about 300 million people and is much bigger. There are about 50 State-Teams in the USA + Europe. Anything from 8 – 15 states form one region. 4 such regional teams make up US-Youth-National-Teams. ODP Europe is part of Region 1, together with Florida for example as Florida.
The DSU trained the boy and girl teams from U 9 until U 19 of the ODP Europe. In the USA 8 million girls and women play active football and next to Germany and Norway the USA are one of the best teams worldwide. Women soccer is enormously popular in the US. They have had a professional women’s soccer league for a number of years now enjoying respectable numbers of spectators.
The State-Teams train monthly in the training center of Germany. Players from Germany, Italy, Switzerland, England and the Benelux-States are playing in games against German Teams or in tournaments in Europe. Every year, the teams are going to the United States to play other State-Teams. There they have the chance to be nominated for a Region 1 Team or to receive a scholarship by a college.
Some of the players trained by DSU at the bases qualified for a high-class local club, German Bundesliga youth team or Region 1 Team.
Some of them are:
| Glenn Verley | 17 years | Kaiserslautern | Region 1 USA |
| Brian Helmetag | 14 years | FK Pirmasens | Region 1 USA |
